What we collect

Emails you send us. If you email us, we receive your email address, name (if given) and the content of your message, including any attachments.

The contact tool. The observation form on our Contact page runs entirely in your browser. Text you type is not transmitted to us or stored on our servers; it only leaves your device if you copy it into an email or share the downloaded file yourself.

Server logs. Our hosting provider may automatically record technical data such as IP address, browser type, pages requested and timestamps, for security and to keep the site running.

We do not run user accounts, advertising trackers or analytics profiles.

Why we use it (legal bases)

We use emails to reply and to improve our guides, based on our legitimate interests in running an informative community resource. Server logs are processed for security under the same basis. Where required, we rely on your consent, which you may withdraw at any time.

How long we keep it

Emails are kept for up to 24 months unless you ask us to delete them sooner. Server logs are typically retained by the host for no more than 30 days.

Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We share it only with service providers who host the site or our email, under appropriate agreements, or where required by law. We will never publish your observation or name without your explicit permission.

Your rights
